Privacy Policy
Effective October 30, 2026
FreshStart Credit Co. ("FreshStart," "we," "us") helps people in Washington State review their credit reports and dispute inaccurate information. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you book a free review: your name, phone number, email address, what you're working toward (for example, buying a home), and whether you agree to receive text messages.
If you become a client: information we need to obtain and dispute your credit reports, which may include your date of birth, Social Security number, current and past addresses, copies of your credit reports, letters from creditors or credit bureaus, and a copy of your ID or proof of address. We only ask for this after you sign a written contract.
Payment information: handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
Website data: basic technical information such as browser type, pages visited, and approximate location, collected through cookies or analytics tools.
How we use it
- To schedule and hold your free credit review
- To provide the services in your contract, including sending disputes to credit bureaus and creditors on your behalf, with your written permission
- To send appointment reminders and service updates by phone, email, or text (texts only if you opt in)
- To bill for completed services
- To keep records required by state and federal law
- To improve our website and services
How we share it
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion), creditors, and collection agencies, only as needed to dispute items you have authorized us to dispute
- With service providers who help us run the business (for example, scheduling, email, payment, and secure document storage), who may use it only to provide those services to us
- When required by law, a court order, or a government request
Text messaging: we do not share your phone number or text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards, including password-protected accounts, encrypted storage for documents, and limiting access to people who need it to serve you. When we send written communications on your behalf, we redact personal information that isn't needed. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us right away if you think your information has been misused.
How long we keep it
We keep client records, contracts, and required disclosures for at least four years after our agreement ends, as state law requires. After that, we securely delete or destroy them. If you only booked a free review and did not become a client, we delete your contact information within 12 months unless you ask us to keep it.
